£10.00These are the Fabric Scissors we use in the shop, they’re a good size without being too cumbersome.
They are 10” which is 26cm at their longest point.
The big trick to keep your fabric scissors sharp and cutting well is to not use them to cut ANYTHING else but fabric… so hide them from everyone else!

Ideal for parties, as a special occasion dress, maybe even as a bridesmaid dress, the Amelie is every little girl’s dream for twirling around in. Another great design for summer and winter, you can dress it up or down, maybe even shorten the skirt length to make it more like a skater dress. Clair wanted a slightly different take on the classic little girl’s dress and was inspired by an actual Amelie to create this design. Take a look at the original muse in her own version of the dress, ready for a party or a day out.
This pattern features a gathered skirt and optional button holes – you can attach poppers instead to close up the back. A relatively simple pattern, the Amelie dress is a good next step on for a beginner sewist.
The Amelie Dress Pattern comes in sizes age 1 – 6.

Easy to sew, with only two long darts from neck to bust, the pattern also includes an option for a full flutter sleeve, giving a summery feel. Alternatively, why not leave off the sleeves altogether and bind your hems for a simple cami top?
Iris is the perfect blend of simple design with interesting detail – that ruffle and the side split are just crying out for some attention. Great with jeans, skirts or shorts in the summer, this is a hugely versatile blouse that can be dressed up or down to suit your mood or the fabric you choose. Light-weight cotton is perfect for beginners or those new to sewing, but if you fancy a slightly more luxurious feel then go for lawn, sateen or even silk.

We designed the straight skirt to be super simple for beginners. It features straight seams to practise your stitching and an elasticated waistband for an easy fit – with no fiddly zips or buttonholes! Choose from knee length or above-the-knee hemline, and add the optional turnover top patch pockets.
The flared version of the skirt is slightly more challenging, as it’s cut on the bias and we suggest a drapier fabric for a flowing silhouette. Choose from knee length or on-trend midi hemline, with optional turnover top pockets, belt loops and elegant sash.
Like all Tilly and the Buttons sewing patterns, Dominique includes instructions in plain English, helpful sewing tips, and colour photos showing you each step – making it easy for you to create gorgeous clothes you can be proud to say you made yourself.

Plain Cotton Coloured Fabric
£2.00Our plain 100% cotton fabrics are great for quilting but can also be used for dressmaking and other sewing projects. It has a lovely grain to it, making it perfect for embroidery too.
The fabric is 110cm wide and the price is per fat quarter, which measures approximately 50cm x 55cm.
Multiples will be cut as one continuous piece. For example, if you want 1m, please order 4 fat quarters.
We’ve tried our best to show the true colour of this fabric in the photographs, but it may look slightly different in real life.

Either treat yourself to this perfect starter kit or give someone a nudge to get crafting. A great gift for some who’s just received a sewing machine, but not necessary to have a sewing machine to use the kit!
The colours are selected at random from our selection, but if you have a request please just let us know in the notes when you order, and we’ll do our best to comply.
